Band news & the sorry saga of my bottom

COUNTY PRESS
• As you will see in this week's paper my article on the youth band's success at Wessex has finally been up in. The delay (no ones fault either at band or CP) hasn’t done any harm as the date for the Medina gig is given in last sentence. The ages are approximate as I had 2 give them of the top of my head, hope they are near enough!
• Well done to Tom Seal and Toby Metcalfe for their excellent fund raising concert as featured in the CP this week. I’ve heard nothing but praise for the playing at the gig. Well done :-)
MEDINA CONCERT UNIFORM
• Both bands will need to wear Black Blazers with badges, long green ties, clean white shirts and appropriate black shoes, trousers would help too. Look smart or face the wrath of Teague. Those helping the junior band, Elling (3rd Cornet) Pete (2nd Cornet) Keith (2nd Horn) and Eb soloist Mike Collis Please wear the Green and gold for youth band and then change for the second half into the black for senior band.
REHEARSAL THURSDAY
• Now…..not wishing to be a moan but Thursday’s rehearsal was very productive but hard work. I MUST have a full band on Thursday 26th. I know half term causes probs but I gave you Sunday off on the understanding we pull out all the stops on Thursday so Youth 7pm prompt start please 7.45pm combined band for Hallelujah Chorus 8pm senior. Thank you x PS Youth band don’t forget yer flower garlands.
CHURCH CONCERT PROGRAMME
• Over 60 letters have gone out to churches across the IOW. These are hopefully going to lead to a programme of church concerts for both bands. Thank you to Robert Nicholson and his family for under taking this task. The letters are very professional and have been sent in envelope with the band logo on. Super stuff guys, well done :-)
WEIGHT
• I’ve lost two pound this week and according to my chart I’ve only another stone and a half to go which is only achievable if I hack off a limb…or some other unnecessary body part. So if I hobble into band next week you know why….

I may have a spare one and I think there is one in the cupbaord but it is a little small. Try Matalan or BHS all you need is a plain black school blazer I will give you the tie and badge on Thursday. Let me know how you get on x
