Youth Band

Our main focus for the New Year is the Wessex Youth + Training Band contest. This year we have entered, as always , a youth band.We have the stage for 20 mins and a programme is being complied. I would like to feature Dom as our chosen tenor horn soloist. Time is against us so every rehearsal counts :-)

The contest starts at 10.00 am with the Training Band Section, then the Ensemble Contest and then the Youth Bands will close the Contest.
 
There are 4 training Bands, then ensembles ( starting at noon) then the youth section with 4 bands. Results should be at 4.30pm :-)

A new venture for us in 2014 is the ensemble section of the contest. We have never done this before and I'm really looking forward to working on this new challenge. We will split the band into two ensembles. Jay will take the youth ensemble ( principle seats ) and I will take the youngest players for a training ensemble. We are allowed one adult bass. Dan C and Mike C?


Senior Band

We will be looking at another senior band contest for 2014. At our first rehearsal we will blow area test piece plus two others for SCABA. Then vote which one we would like to do.
