Catch up
Half way through our summer season guys and we have enjoyed a most productive and pleasing series of concerts so far. Lots of lovely comments from the audience, and local bandsman alike, which is great. The new items seem to have gone down very well and, as usual, the soloists are fab x Great to see Jessica and Michael with us again :-)
Unlike some other bands who don't support Rylstone in the month of August, Vectis play right through, and much to our credit that we do so. This is not easy as many of us have holidays, a life etc. but as we have multi instrumentalists in the band, we cope really well. Thank you for filling in the 'August absence' sheet last night, as I can now plan ahead.
Ryde Carnival
We have been offered a very lucrative engagement on Sunday 18th August on Ryde sea front, for the 200th year celebration of Ryde carnival, which I think is one of the oldest in the UK. I would like to do this engagement. Can you let me know availability. It is a noon kick off for just an hour.
Small band
On Friday 23rd August we have been asked to provide a small band for 'Chelseas Wishes' a child based charity. The job is at the Solent Inn, Ryde for an hour, 10.30am start. Again let me know availability :-)
Contest 2013
We don't usually do a contest in September but we have taken on that challenge this year ! As you will have seen, right at the start of the season, I posted a contest rehearsal schedule. There is a slight change to that as on Sunday 15th Sept, we will rehearse as stated, just a little later, as Derek Broadbent has offered his services. Great news :-)
RAFA
Our support for this cause will continue however we donate a Rylstone to them instead of a set concert, as we have contest preparations this year.
