Wessex Contest

We have entered two bands into this contest. Each will be judged separately within it's own section.
The training band will include everyone and 6 adult helpers (Elling - front row, Steve & Lou - back row, Chris - 2nd baritone, Glynis - 2nd horn) We can have one more adult but I don't feel we need it.

The youth band has to play with no adults and all players must be under 19 on the day. This band will have the older children in it.

I will post a seating plan for both bands tomorrow.

Downton Band have kindly lent percussion of Kit Set, 2 Timps & glock. This will save us setting up time :-) We will take our own box of extras and of course sticks.

We have to play a 20 min prog. Each different for each band. This includes getting onto the stage and two verses of a hymn out of the red hymn book.

This contest is predawn and we are:

We will start the contest at 9.30am. Your time for warm
up is set at 11.15 am with your registration time at 11.45 am

Vectis Youth Brass Mary Teaque Draw 1

We will start the Youth contest at 2.15 pm. Your time for warm
up is set at 1.30 pm with your registration time at 2.00 pm

There was 9 bands last year, I will post how many when I know.

The contest is supported by HM Royal Marines who provide the days adjudicator and also an short concert before the results are announced.

We had a great time two years ago and I'm really looking forward top sharing our musical abilities with the other mainland bands.
