Thursday 11th
First rehearsal back after a busy but very enjoyable summer
season. I must have the youth band sat down ready
to play at 7pm so we can make the most of the three weeks until the Youth Band Contest.
We did a super job in rehearsals before the season we now need to start where
we left off. Got your message John, don't rush get there when you can :-) Adult helpers - I
need, for the youth band contest, Dan (Bb flat bass) Elling (back row) Faye (front
row) Jay (2nd baritone)
Senior band 8pm start as usual.
We too will run our test piece but also all the new items I have bought have
arrived so lots of new music to start work on.
Rylstone
Very pleasing season :-) As usual
the Bucket family where superb not only in supporting us but all the bands
who play at Rylstone. The weather was good this year and the audiences large. I
thought the playing was very stable through out
all of the sections of the band. Tuning as mostly good and the new items settled in well.
Bravo soloists all, good stuff x Commitment was also very good, thank you for
this it is appreciated. Audience feed back was excellent.
RAFA
Thank you for giving up one of
your Sunday afternoons for such a worthy cause. Next year I would like to take one
of our Rylstone garden performances and use that to raise even more funds for
our chosen charity. More news to follow x
Autumn
We return now to our usual rehearsal
schedule. Youth band 7pm and senior band 8pm I would like to start training band
in October will update soon with times and info. Jay will be taking the 1st rehearsal
in each month come October too. He is an excellent MD and I feel he is ready
and more than able for this extra responsibly in his musical journey. Glynis , MD
Wight Brass, will also be invited to warm band up with hymns etc. We are
fortunate to have such multi skill instrumentalist and conductors in team VB.
See you all tomorrow :-) x
